Hey, I'm Kacy!

I’m the photographer behind Kacy Hughes Photography, and I’ve been in love with photography for more than 20 years. What started as a hobby in high school, eventually became a career that has allowed me to meet so many amazing people and capture some of life’s most important moments.

 

My favorite part of photography has always been the people. I love capturing the genuine moments—the way a mom looks at her baby, the laughter between siblings, the excitement of a senior, or the connection between a couple. My style is relaxed, fun, genuine, and true to color, with a mixture of beautiful posed portraits and candid moments. As a mom of three teenagers, I’ve had plenty of experience with kids, and I genuinely love working with the ones who don’t want to cooperate. In fact, when parents leave a session convinced that we didn’t get anything good, I love surprising them with a gallery full of amazing images. My favorite clients are the ones who trust my vision, relax, have fun, and let me capture their family as they really are.

 

I love when clients come back year after year and trust me with all of their milestones—from engagement and wedding photos to newborn portraits, family sessions, birthdays, and eventually senior pictures. Being invited back into a family’s life over and over again is one of the greatest compliments I could receive. My goal is always to create photographs that make you feel joy and love when you see them.

 

When I’m not taking or editing photos, I’m usually watching one of my kids play sports, traveling with my family, decorating, crafting, organizing, shopping with friends, or enjoying good food. I love cruises and pretty much anywhere with a beach, and Oceanside has become our family’s annual vacation spot. I’m also slightly obsessed with fall and pumpkins, have an unreasonable love for Dr. Pepper and Torchy’s Tacos, and I’m known for randomly quoting Disney movies and making my kids guess which movie it’s from. These days, life is mostly family, football, photography, and trying to enjoy every minute of this crazy, busy season.


I’m based in San Tan Valley, Arizona, and photograph families throughout Queen Creek, Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale, Tempe, Florence, Apache Junction, Phoenix, and surrounding areas. Whether you’re welcoming a new baby, celebrating your senior, getting married, or simply wanting to freeze this season of your family’s life, I’d love to get to know you and create something you’ll treasure for years to come. Kacy was an absolute joy to work with! I have had many friends who felt dissatisfied with their wedding photos and had many complaints about their photographer so I was very scared about who to hire. I know we made the right choice with Kacy, the photos are beautiful and everything we could have hoped for. She even designed and included a very nice wedding album that is just gorgeous. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to remember their big day. I've seen her other shoots and they're amazing as well, next to weddings I think her baby shoots are my favorite. She is comfortable and easy going, our engagement photos with a different photographer were very awkward and it showed in the images. Look no further, you will have an amazing experience if you go through her.

Kacy was amazing! I cannot say enough especially hearing stories from others about their wedding photos. She did our engagement photos and we loved her and our pictures so we asked her to do our wedding. Kacy and her second shooter did a fabulous job capturing everything! She was very fast at getting us a preview of our pictures and we has our beautiful, high quality album in less than 2 months! She put it together with such care and we can tell she put thought into it all. She had great ideas for photos and made it so easy for us to relax.
